JARA Dominican-American multidisciplinary artist, she creates as a defiance against disappearance. As her hometown of Queens continues to transform under the pressing weight of gentrification, she uses both painting and music to anchor what remains and immerse the audience in an immortalized New York and the summers of her Dominican roots.
